Westphalia's national costumes from

Hattrop for Bulgarian pupils

From 13th to 19th November the first meeting of the Comenius project "Knowledge builds Bridges" took place in Sofia and Razlog, Bulgaria. The participating schools sent pupils and teachers to this first exchange visit.

The aim of the project is to abolish prejudices, experience different cultures and make friends with people from other countries. At the first meeting, a common logo was selected. The logo of the Comenius project is the composition of the pictures from Cyprus and Soest.[You can see it on top of the homepage]

At the Bulgarian schools traditional folk dances, customs and music were introduced to the partners. One highlight was the presentation of the traditional national costumes. Due to a loan of the Hattrop Folk Dance Group the guests from Soest could dress two Bulgarian pupils in traditional Westphalian clothes.

Until the next meeting in May 2007 in Poland there will be an exchange of regional fairy tales and legends, the start of a mutual homepage and a Soest photo album with the title "Past-Present-Future".
