Next international Comenius meeting takes the Soest people to Poland - Mutual Internet site to be built up

Since last August von-Vincke-Schule takes part in the Comenius project "Knowledge builds Bridges".

Enhancement of cultural exchange

The aim of the project is the cultural exchange between the partner schools in general and the pupils in particular. There are partner schools from Cyprus, Crete, Bulgaria, Finland and Poland.

One part of the project is the exchange of myths and legends in form of picture postcards that are exchanged on special occasions. The Bulgarian pupils of Bratia-Petar-i-Ivan-Kanazirevi-School in Razlog sent 2 postcards for Rosemonday. In the morning of Rosemonday the German pupils said "Thank you" for the postcards, which had even been designed tactual for the blind pupils, in a video conference that lasted 20 minutes.

The Germans were even greeted in German by one Razlog student. The blind pupil Benedikt Lübke explained to the partners that his teachers are usually not in costumes. The pupils of von-Vincke-Schule showed their partners a conga line to the music of "Viva Colonia" and could ask the Bulgarian pupils some questions.

Yesterday the pupils who are going to Poland for the next meeting of Comenius for chosen by the Comenius team and the headmaster. Stefanie Kneisel, Benedikt Lübke, Sven Grebe and Adrian Pajic, pupils of the classes 8 and 9, are going to visit Miejski Zespól Szkól in Swieradowie-Zdroju and are going to live with host families.

One aim of the meeting in Poland is the building of a common Internet site that will represent all participating schools.
