Kloster Bentlage

Cappenberg Palace

At Cappenberg Palace, a former Premonstratensian monastery located near Unna in the locale of Selm and dating from the twelfth century, the LWL-Landesmuseum has 200 items on display in over ten rooms. These objects are from the life of the site’s most famous inhabitant, the Baron vom Stein, who acquired the dissolved monastery in 1816 from the Prussian state as his retirement home.
