About us

Established in 1928, the LWL-Medienzentrum für Westfalen (Multimedia Centre of Westphalia) works as a governmental non-profit-institution for the area of Westphalia. It is today a modern multimedia service for education and culture. The work of the Centre is guided by three aims that form its profile:

  • Using multimedia as an aid to learn at school and in general education programmes (Media Education and Media Distribution)
  • Multimedia-based communication of subjects covering Westphalia’s past and present (Multimedia Production)
  • The preservation of the audiovisual cultural heritage of the region
