Members

The Historical Commission is made up of full and corresponding members plus honorary members. They are elected for life and work on a honorary basis.

 

Persons who seem suitable to participate in the tasks of the Historical Commission because of their scholarly work or their professional position can be elected as full members. Accepting the election obliges them to take part in the fulfilment of the tasks of the Commission and to promote its goals.

 

Persons who have a close relation with the historical research of Westphalia can be elected as corresponding members. In accepting the election they don’t have to asssume the obligation of active participation.

 

Members who have rendered outstanding services to the Historical Commission can be elected as honorary members.

 

New elections of members take place once a year at the general meeting by secret ballot. All members of the Commission are entitled to suggest candidates.
